time, time, time. see what's become of me ...

Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky
Is a hazy shade of winter

There are no "patches of snow on the ground" but, it's dang chilly!

Welcome to my update! And welcome Fall!!! Fall and winter rock best IMO. I adore Spring and Summer yes, but, there's nothing like this time of year.

Since my last post just after Baby Loves Disco, my hubby has been gone out of state for training. I know it's promotion points and I know it will make him even more "army strong" but, I tell ya this next week and a half can't fly by fast enough. I told him tonight during our beddy-bye convo not to be shocked when he walks in, I hand off our daughter, and say "I'll be back". ;)

The last few weeks alone with baby girl though ... we've had a great time together. I've watched her explode with new words, signs, curiosities, you name it! I asked her yesterday what sound an owl makes, and she promptly answers " hoo hoo hoo!!!" LOL She's so proud! It's fucking adorable. Truly.

A few nights before, as we were sitting on the bottom front steps at sundown, she points at the glowing half of the moon and says "Da! Da!". She missed her daddy, and must know he's far away, I suppose. I can't hand her the phone when he calls ... it would become a battle to get it back. But when I have him on the phone, she looks at me holding the phone to my ear and says "hi" and "da". It's not one single sentence, but it's close.

Also while he's been gone, her first two syllable word was "Caillou". I'm not shocked by this. LOL But I do wonder, when she runs around and entire day, repeating the word over and over, if someday I will be pleading my case in front of a pediatrician that Caillou is a good show for the toddler to age five set, and no I never use the tele as a "babysitter".

A few things I've grown to find pretty dang fun in the last few weeks -
*Banging on metal bowls and tupperware with wooden spoons.
*Taking walks thru Huntley Meadows ... it's especially nice when she's had her fill, and takes her much needed nap in the rumbling stroller.
*Counting to 10 with our eyes covered. She saw Kipper playing hide and seek and now thinks it's the most awesome thing ever!
*Taking literally hundred of photos of my daughter - sometimes doing absolutely nothing.
*The gigantic coloring book!

That's a conservative list but I just realized how much of a mommy I truly have become as I type it out. ROFL I am in love with my daughter so, I can't help myself sometimes. It will be nice to hold and kiss my husband again, in just a little more time. I'm aching for some "me time" but even more, I'm anxious for him to see how much Molly-Fae has grown just in the short time he's gone.

Yes so, someday I'll probably be caught singing some "mom song" to the tune of the William Tell Overature. But till then, I'll try to keep up this facade of "toughness" ... and then my little girl will reach outher arms and wrap them around my legs, and I'll melt all over again.

Other than being on-duty, without another set of adult arms to help, I have managed to read a book. Yes, an entire book! 300 pages, even! LOL "Dead Till Dark", one of the books in the Sookie Sackhouse saga that inspired the HBO "True Blood" series. A definite must for a vampire fan's book shelf. I had a hard time putting it down and can't wait to dive in to book two. After that, I began to reread "The Prophet". The first time I read it, I think I was about 20. Now approaching 40, it means so much more. The most
amazing work ever caught on paper... it should be required reading for all human beings.

I have a lot of photos to share, and other topics floating around my head. But my hands are overfull right now ... I will update again soon. Till then, be well and stay warm!
.

Seasons change with their scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me
